The doorway of Keppel's Column has no solid door but is barred by a locked iron gate reinforced by strong mesh. This is fortunate in that it allows the central brick well to be viewed. The start of the spiral staircase, located between the brick well and the outer stone shell, is blocked by rubble to hinder unauthorised access. | ||||
