Dutch police responding to an emergency call in which only panting sounds could be heard, were less than amused to discover that the call had been accidentally made by a dog which had snaffled its owner's mobile phone. After throwing sticks for her dog in Stover Country Park, Laura Bunday decided to take one of the sticks home, little thinking that she would have to return it later when the police phoned her to say that she had committed a criminal offence. Three days after Bart, a drug sniffer dog serving with the Surrey Police, was sacked for losing his nasal knack, he led his new owner straight to a hidden stash of cannabis. After having her home burgled three times in a year, Angela Haggas, of Middlesborough, bought a Rottweiler. The next burglar stole the dog. Neighbours who witnessed the event thought he was just taking it for a walk. Sarah and Mick Dean, of Wigan, were burgled more than 20 times and had their car stolen twice. When their boxer guard dog was taken in the last break-in, they decided it was time to sell up and move out. |
