On city streets, paramedics on bicycles can reach emergencies faster than an ambulance. Their mountain bikes have a siren and blue flashing lights. Neil Woodward was fined £100 and banned from driving for 6 months by magistrates in Doncaster for fixing a flashing blue light to his car and stopping 50 speeding motorists. Woodward said, "I was doing my bit for road safety." The longest lasting rainbow ever recorded was seen in the Welsh counties of Gwynedd and Clywd on 14th August, 1979. It remained visible for over three hours. A rugby match between two Welsh teams was a nightmare for the commentator. Twelve members of the Bala team were called Jones and four members of the Fairwater team were called Morgan. Only one of the Bala team was a Morgan. |
