Whitby Abbey framed by the Whalebone Arch

It is a little unfortunate that from this angle, the Abbey ruins are almost hidden behind the Parish Church of St Mary. The Whalebone Arch itself is crumbling and the search is on for a suitable replacement. It will not be the same - but, then, neither is Whitby since they built the marina.
