A Christmas Carol
The festival of Solstice o'er,
And Sol Invictus turned once more,
Towards the dark Hibernian shore,
Let's raise the song to Light!
Come, Muse, we'll Winter's anthem raise,
Against these Dark and stormy days;
Along the Frozen wintry ways,
Let's Voice new tracks of Light!
Come, Lord and Lady of Misrule,
Come, celebrate this Feast of Yule,
Come, serve the servants, act the Fool,
And set the World Alight!
Come, Bright Helen and Constantine,
True Cross invent; Old faiths Align;
Rex Mundi: Conquer In This Sign:
Let Myth subvert the Light!
Oh, Patriarch and Pope as One,
With Mammon, worshipping not Sun,
But sulphurous Gold... And, Oh, What Fun,
To set aside Onn's Light!
And now the Sun's at perigee,
Let's light eight candles so we'll see,
What Light illuminates the Tree:
Let's raise the Son to Light!
